Soshanguve Community Radio is situated at Shop No:45 NAFCOC shopping centre in Block F(west) next to Giant Stadium.Soshanguve Community Radio idea was started by a community organisation called Soshanguve Residents Association(SOREA) in 1993 which then saw the radio station going on air for the first time in 1996 after it was granted a broadcast licence by Independent Communication Authority of South Africa(ICASA) which by then was known as Independent Broadcasting Authority(IBA).

It was on Saturday the 17th February 1996 when the community waited in anticipation for the first broadcast of their community radio, when the clock hits 6H00am the first broadcast went on air till to date which is 17 years ago.

Throughout the years the radio station went through several changes from 12 hours broadcast,18 hours to the recent 24 hours which was initiated by the new management which took office from June 2012 to date.

It has also produced top media people during its tenure, the station managed to supply mainstream broadcasting houses and other industries with personnel. The likes of Jabu Mahlangu (IKWEKWEZI FM),Bobo Da Beat (IKWEKWEZI FM), Patience Dlamini (SABC NEWS), Lucas Kgaphola (SABC NEWS), Kabelo Molopyane (MOTSWEDING FM), Papa Moalusi (MOTSWEDING FM), Brad Monyamane (Thobela FM), Lettie Dube (LOVE LIFE RADIO DIVISION MANAGER), Franky M (RADIO BOP), Alex Nkosi (DAILY SUN), Tshepang Mpete (DAILY SUN), Phathu Ratshilumela (ONLINE MAGAZINE EDITOR), etc.
